Victory Cruise Lines canceled the remainder of the 2020 season for the Victory II, one of its two ships.
Victory also extended the temporary suspension for operations for its other ship, Victory I, which is now scheduled to resume service on July 5.

The decisions were made due to the government’s restrictions “across ports, cities and public institutions” and a no-sail order in Canadian waters through June 30.

John Waggoner, CEO of parent company American Queen Steamboat Co., said it is consolidating Victory itineraries to “prioritize delivering the extraordinary Great Lakes sailing experience that our loyal guests have come to expect from the VCL brand.”

In March, Victory said it would charter a second newbuild for the Alaska market, the 200-passenger Ocean Discoverer, set to launch in 2023. It will be Victory’s fourth ship and nearly identical to the Ocean Victory, set to debut in Alaska in 2021. Both ships will offer 12- to 13-day expedition cruises.
