Update: If you’re unable to find availability via Ticketmaster, the Centurion (or possibly Platinum) Concierge may be able to purchase tickets for you by contacting Spotlight directly. Additionally, if the Concierge purchases tickets through Spotlight, Ticketmaster fees most likely will not apply.

Hamilton has taken over Broadway, and now Amex is offering Centurion and Platinum cardholders the chance to get presale tickets at a reduced price. Yesterday, around 30,000 cardholders were emailed presale codes to purchase their Hamilton tickets on Ticketmaster. And now all cardholders can access a code when they call the Amex concierge at (800) 525-3355 and request it, allowing them to search on Ticketmaster. Each cardholder has access to four tickets with each code, and authorized users are also eligible for their own code.

With the presale, TPG was able to successfully score four orchestra tickets for just $796 — $199 per ticket!

TPG was able to score four Hamilton tickets for $796.

The presale tickets for Hamilton are available for shows from January 31 through May 21, and there appears so be some scattered availability at reasonable prices. It’s worth noting that TPG’s Centurion concierge said that there was much more availability for the $850 seats in the Orchestra level. He also mentioned that the offer is non-transferable and that the tickets would be sent electronically, however, TPG wanted to gift the tickets and his concierge is going to send hard tickets one or two weeks before the show.

Only Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders are eligible for the presale. As a recent Platinum cardholder (following the great 100,000-point sign-up bonus), I called the Amex concierge to secure some tickets to the show. Be forewarned, there will be long wait times — when I called, I was on hold for around 30 minutes before connecting with a concierge. She was very helpful and gave me a code so I could check for tickets on Ticketmaster’s website. I’ve been scanning the site for the past 20 minutes and have yet to see anything in the $200 range, but there is a lot of availability for the $850 seats.

Given how high the demand is for Hamilton, this is an amazing deal that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in (or can get to) New York. Tickets to Hamilton shows regularly exceed the $1,000 threshold, oftentimes reaching near $2,000 and even as high as $5,000 per ticket.
