THE PENSINSULA BEIJING by Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH) underwent a massive US$123 million facelift inspired by the Middle Kingdom’s opulent Imperial palaces and tranquil gardens.

The rooms in the paperless hotel also feature in-room technology with 11 different languages as well as city information and services only a few clicks away.

We’re particularly entranced with the Beijing Suite fitted out like the home of a Chinese aristocrat and featuring details like gold upholstery, rich hardwood flooring, and loud throws and rugs.

Grandeur is extended throughout the hotel in the form of materials like bronze, onyx, white marble and rosewood. On top of that, notable art pieces are featured prominently in the lobby including dramatic pieces by artist Qin Feng, a spirit wall by Belinda Chow and bronze sculptures by Zhang Du.
