Allegiant Air will begin servicing 28 new routes between late August and the end of the year. The ultra-low-cost carrier’s route map will add Milwaukee; Gulfport, Miss.; and Norfolk, Va.

The news amounts to the largest single route announcement in the history of Allegiant, the company said.

Among the airports that will see at least two new Allegiant flights are Orlando Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa, St. Pete-Clearwater, Los Angeles, Punta Gorda, Fort Lauderdale, Cincinnati and Las Vegas.

Gulfport will get service to Orlando beginning Aug. 30. Milwaukee will see service to St. Pete and Los Angeles beginning Oct. 13, Orlando beginning Nov. 16 and Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix beginning Nov. 17. Norfolk will get service to St. Pete on Oct. 4 and Orlando and Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 17.

Out of the 28 routes Allegiant announced Tuesday, six are winter seasonal.

Allegiant is selling introductory fares on the new routes through Thursday for as low as $29 one-way on travel through Feb. 13. Fares don’t include ancillary products such as carry-on bags.
