&Beyond has launched a selection of philanthropic itineraries, designed to give guests an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in conservation and community initiatives.

The responsible luxury travel tours take place in South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania.

Travel with a Purpose in South Africa

The ten-day tour includes a safari at &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve, as well as Cape Town and Hermanus.

At the reserve, guests have the opportunity to participate in a rhino notching conservation experience, in addition to gaining insight into the challenges facing rural communities as they visit educational and healthcare projects, as well as local small business initiatives supported by &Beyond.

Later they can contrast this with the projects in Cape Town, such as early-learning centres, and urban agricultural and environmental programmes.

In Hermanus, guests are introduced to the work done in an educational training centre, as well as an agricultural project, in between whale watching and exploring the area.

The 12-day tour introduces guests to East Africa’s wildlife and people. Guests can adopt an elephant at the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and hand-feed giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. They also get to meet with students from the Community Leaders Education Fund bursary programme, as well as immersing themselves in the Maasai way of life at Chyulu Plains National Park.

Visits to the wildlife sanctuaries, Ol Pejeta and Lewa Downs, home to chimpanzee and rhino sanctuaries, conclude the trip.
