AirVentures Okavango Balloon Safaris saw an increase in hot air balloon activity over the Okavango Delta, owing to good weather conditions throughout the typical ballooning season, which runs from April to September each year.

AirVentures operates from Kadizora Camp in the Okavango, and is part of the Africa Wild Group – a portfolio member of An African Anthology. Adam Fillmore, Director of AirVentures, says the ballooning activity takes place in Kadizora’s concession area of the Okavango Delta, spanning in excess of 100 000 hectares of landscapes and waterways. “The weather conditions during this period are mostly perfect for flying, and this year alone has seen a success rate for flying of over 90% for the whole ballooning period. Guests who have flown the balloon have had the privilege of seeing amazing sightings that include lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, wild dog, hippo, crocodile, sable, giraffe and other general game to name a few.”

The conclusion of the Delta flying season will see AirVentures continue with flights in South Africa over the Cradle of Humankind. Fillmore adds that it will offer “the unique experience of gorge flying, combined with drifting along the Crocodile River, and game viewing over the various reserves in the area. The South African season runs yearly and caters for romantic couples to larger groups.”
