Luxury lifestyle brand Thompson Hotels has opened its first outpost in Washington, D.C.
Located less than a mile from Capitol Hill, the new Thompson Washington D.C. spans 11 stories. The 225-room hotel is part of The Yards, a 42-acre waterfront development in D.C.’s emerging Navy Yards neighborhood that also comprises retail, dining and residential components.
Guestroom interiors combine industrial design elements with the Thompson brand’s signature midcentury modern aesthetic. Each room is outfitted with 400-thread-count linens, Tivoli radios, 55-inch HD TVs, D.S. & Durga bath products and minibars featuring locally sourced goods.
The Thompson Washington D.C. is home to several restaurants and bars created by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, including seafood restaurant Maialino Mare. Adjacent to Maialino Mare is the Thompson Bar Room.
Anchovy Social, the hotel’s rooftop bar, is expected to open in the next several weeks. Promising 360-degree views of the waterfront and city, the venue will offer a selection of cocktails, wines and beer, as well as shareable dishes and seafood towers.
The Thompson Washington D.C. also houses more than 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event and meeting space.
