Royal Caribbean International is inviting its past guests the opportunity to apply to be on the test sailings that the CDC is requiring that cruise ships perform before being certified to enter service.

In a Facebook post, Royal Caribbean said: “It’s time to get back to adventure. You read that right. We’re looking for guests who want to be the first back at sea.”

The CDC’s framework for cruise resumption includes a requirement that ships conduct test sailings prior to restarting commercial operations and present to the CDC a report showing that those sailings were successful in mitigating the risk of spread to crew, passengers and communities.

Royal said that its fans can “sign up to be considered” by visiting a site called Volunteer of the Seas and inputing their personal information.

Last week, Royal Caribbean’s senior vice president of sales, trade support and service, Vicki Freed, said that travel advisors may be able to serve as volunteers on those test sailings.
