American Airlines will become the sole carrier offering service between Buenos Aires and the U.S. West Coast.
The carrier will launch thrice-weekly service between the Argentina capital and Los Angeles on Dec. 19 using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The route is one of five to Latin America that American unveiled Tuesday. American will also augment its already robust route network out of Miami with flights to Georgetown, Guyana; Pereira, Colombia; and Cordoba, Argentina. Georgetown and Pereira flights will launch Dec. 20, while the Cordoba service will begin April 2, 2019. Each of those cities will be a new destination for American, which will compete against Surinam Airways on Miami-Georgetown and will be the lone carrier on the other two routes.
American will begin flying daily from Dallas to the Mexican resort destination of Oaxaca on Dec. 19. The service will be American’s first to Oaxaca, and it will be the lone carrier on the route.
