New domestic carrier Breeze Airways has pushed back its planned launch until next year. The carrier had planned a 2020 launch.

A Breeze spokesman provided no reason for the decision in a brief comment Monday.

Breeze is JetBlue founder David Neeleman’s new project. The airline is to connect mid-sized city pairs that lost nonstop service due to airline consolidation. Neeleman has said that the carrier will make use of technological innovations that will improve the flying experience while saving travelers time and money.

Breeze has 60 Airbus A220-300s on order, with deliveries set to begin next year. For the planned 2020 launch, the carrier leased 30 Embraer E195 aircraft from Azul, the Brazilian carrier Neeleman founded. Neeleman is currently Azul’s chairman.
