British Airways has announced it is bringing back an additional non-stop flight between London and Phoenix, Arizona, beginning today.
The flag-carrier will initially operate the service on Tuesdays and Fridays, and on May 6th an additional Sunday flight will commence.
This added service, which will be available through October, helps meet the heightened demand from UK travellers wanting to visit Arizona – a holiday destination in the American south-west known for its warm weather, desert scenery, American Indian culture, outdoor adventure, wellness resorts and, of course, the Grand Canyon.
“The UK is Arizona’s second-largest source of overseas visitors, and BA’s decision to add new service to Phoenix is a reflection of the appeal our state holds for Brits and other European travellers,” said Debbie Johnson, director of the Arizona Office of Tourism.
“In addition to the Grand Canyon, there are 21 other national parks and monuments in Arizona, and the iconic landmarks -such as Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly and Havasupai Falls – found within Arizona’s tribal lands are among the most beautiful places in North America.”
British Airways’ current daily service from London to Phoenix departs London Heathrow at 14:45 and arrives at Phoenix Sky Harbour International Airport at 17:35.
The new flight will take off from Heathrow at 12:15 and touchdown in Phoenix at 15:00.
