Chalet On The Rocks, a brand-new chalet, has joined Chamonix’s stylish scene for the upcoming winter ski-season.
Steering away from the traditional log-cabin look and aiming for the fashionable ski-set, Chalet On The Rocks was created by Cedric Hanisch.
His passion for interiors and love of the mountains has achieved a chalet that exudes sophistication. Incredibly stylish, Chalet On The Rocks is set on a hill above the valley, providing the most amazing unobstructed views of Mont Blanc, Aiguille du Midi and Glacier des Bossons.
Chalet On The Rocks sleeps 11 in five bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and offers two living areas, three balconies, a sauna and the best-placed jacuzzi in the Alps!
The location is ideal for families, groups of friends or even a small group of corporates looking for a high-end mountain retreat.
Drawing on Chamonix’s dramatic landscape, Hanisch’s goal was to create a home that combined tradition with modernism. Working closely with the architect, his desire for radical geometries and minimalism represent his own personal choice, yet at the same time aims to give the style-conscious cognoscenti a designer feel, which still very much respects the Alps, conveying an opulent yet distinguished mountainside ambience.
Featuring a bold and minimalist interior design, three dramatic fixed clamped steel frames eliminate the need for interior walls.
This provides a vast open space surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows which offer breath-taking mountain views, giving guests the feeling the landscape is incorporated into the interior of the chalet.
The main area is beautifully lit with low-hanging lights, while well-lit drop lights hang over a bar. Bedrooms define the essence of mountain chic. Heated dark hardwood floors contrast with charcoal grey wood furniture and crisp fresh white bedding.
Chalet On The Rocks is a three-minute drive to the Brevent or Aiguille du Midi lifts and close to Chamonix Centre-Ville.
