Delta Sky Miles members can now redeem loyalty points for seat upgrades after they book on Delta.com. The carrier will offer the same functionality on its mobile app beginning early next year.
“Our ultimate goal is for SkyMiles members to have the choice to use miles anywhere they can use cash with Delta, and to be able to make those transactions available in digital channels,” said Sandeep Dube, Delta’s senior vice president of customer engagement and loyalty.
With the new website functionality, Sky Miles members can log into their account to redeem points for upgrades to Comfort Plus, premium economy, domestic first class or international Delta One business class.
The upgrades can be for each segment of a trip or for the entire itinerary.
Sky Miles points can’t be used for upgrades on legs of a journey that aren’t operated by Delta.
