Oetker Collection’s Jumby Bay Island has announced the appointment of Sandro Fabris as its new managing director.

After a successful career with prestigious hotel groups throughout the world, Fabris will take the helm of Jumby Bay Island in November.

In addition to maintaining the well-established reputation of Jumby Bay Island, he will continue to position the resort as one of the most desired destinations in the world.

Fabris joins Oetker Collection after an impressive career, which has seen him in roles such as hotel manager at the Cipriani in Venice, Italy, in 1992, followed by general manager at the Quinta do Lago Hotel in Almancil, Portugal in 1996.

In 2010, Sandro became regional managing director, South Africa, for Orient Express before his most recent position as general manager at the renowned Half Moon Resort in Jamaica in 2015.

Frank Marrenbach, chief executive of Oetker Collection, said: “I am delighted to have Sandro on board at Jumby Bay Island and I am convinced that his wealth of experience, combined with his talent as a great host, will take Jumby Bay to new heights.”

Set in one of the most beautiful, untouched locations in the world, Jumby Bay Island is a 300-acre private island of simple pleasures in the Caribbean nation of Antigua & Barbuda.

Having joined Oetker Collection in late 2017, under new management, the resort has undergone an inspired restoration programme to inject a new lease of life into the much-loved island.

A slick, fresh new look will be revealed when the resort re-opens this month.
