THE Residence Suite on Etihad Airways’ A380 fleet is the most expensive flight seat in the world. The airfare for a flight from New York to Mumbai can cost US$38,000 per person for a single-trip journey.

Guests can request for their favorite dishes to be whipped up by the in-flight chef, while wine and champagne are regularly topped up in Vera Wang glassware. Personalized cognac service is an option.

Travelers will also enjoy VIP concierge service where hotel, restaurant and other travel arrangements will be made for them. On top of that, chauffeur service is provided, as is a separate entrance into the private check-in area.

In other news, Etihad also debuted its new Premium Lounge at Melbourne Airport, the airline’s largest outside Abu Dhabi.

The space can seat up to 133 guests and features expansive views of the runway, custom-made Italian leather chairs, high-speed WiFi connectivity, and bespoke personalized service.

The signature feature is a 26-seat dining area, where travelers can eat fresh seasonal produce made into classic Middle Eastern snacks like hummus, baba ghanoush and muhammara. Coffee from a first-rate Melbourne roaster will also be available.
