Travellers venturing to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu will now have an even wider choice of train travel available to them as Inca Rail launches its brand-new service, the 360° Machu Picchu Train.
The train’s domed panoramic windows are taller and wider than all others currently operating on this route giving passengers an enhanced view of the soaring Andes mountain range as they travel to Machu Picchu.
The new train also features an open-air observation carriage at the centre of the train, allowing passengers to step out, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and fully immerse themselves in the spectacular scenery on show.
These benefits are what make Inca Rail’s new service Peru’s most scenic train to Machu Picchu.
The on-board experience is further enhanced by the latest modern connectivity, including USB ports at each seat for charging smartphones and other devices.
Passengers can download a special GPS activated app at the start of their journey, which will provide a deeper insight into the passing scenery which includes the roaring Urubamba river valley, cloud forest draped peaks and Inca ruins.
The culinary experience on board is authentically Peruvian, with a light meal comprising of energising regional snacks and organic pressed juices included on the service.
The 360° Machu Picchu Train is available to book for daily departures from tomorrow, with a capacity of 248 passengers on each route.
There will be two departures per day from Poroy station, on the outskirts of the Inca capital of Cusco.
Four departures per day are made from Ollantaytambo, the main station of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, located in between Cusco and Machu Picchu.
