Lanseria introduces first self-service bag-drop in SA

Lanseria Airport will introduce self-service bag-drop at the end of August, the first airport in South Africa to do so. The service makes use of SITA’s self-service systems to allow passengers to check in and drop-off their bags. Passengers who have checked in online or on their phone will be able to tag their bags and drop them off in under a minute by making use of SITA’s Scan&Fly self-service bag-drop unit.

Lanseria is also making use of the Airport iValidate system from SITA which will allow the airport to automatically verify different types of boarding passes, from home-printed to mobile boarding passes. This will speed up the check-in process, and increase security for passengers.
