THE ASEAN Ecotourism Forum will run this June 22 to 25 in the southern Laos city of Pakse.

The two-day forum – themed “ASEAN Without Borders: A Roadmap for Strategic Development of Ecotourism Clusters and Tourism Corridors” – will aim to promote the country’s ecotourism destinations.

Dr Bosengkham Vongdara, Laos’ Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, said, “The forum comes at an opportune time for international tourism investors, developers and operators to tap into the exciting tourism opportunities ahead in the region.”

Dr Bosengkham adds that travelers within ASEAN nations will help to generate economies and promote sustainability in the ecotourism industry, especially in rural areas.

Some of the topics that will be discussed at the forum include multilateral cooperation for ecotourism growth and sustainable development for tourism clusters.

Speakers will include representatives from the Wildlife Conservation Society, Mekong Tourism and Green Discovery.
