One&Only has announced the appointment of Jacques Le Roux as resort manager at One&Only Nyungwe House.

Located in a working tea plantation in Gisakura in south-west Rwanda, on the edge of the ancient Nyungwe Forest, the resort began welcoming guests on October 1st.

In his new role, Le Roux will be responsible for the overall operation of One&Only Nyungwe House and will support the strategic development of the brand’s resorts in Rwanda.

Jacques brings over ten years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry to One&Only Nyungwe House, having previously held general manager, resident manager and camp manager positions in various African lodges, camps and hotels.

Prior to joining One&Only, he held the role of general manager at Eden Belo Monte – an exclusive boutique hotel in São Tomé & Príncipe where he led over 100 team members and was in charge of all operations.

Le Roux grew up just outside of Cape Town in South Africa, and after leaving school to travel, he moved to the United Kingdom where he joined the Nike Hotel Group and studied hospitality management.

Reporting to Philippe Zuber, president, One&Only Resorts, Le Roux is responsible for creating unrivalled, memorable experiences for guests at One&Only Nyungwe House, in keeping with the brand’s promise to enthral and excite.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jacques to One&Only.

“Nestled within a lush tea plantation, on the edge of an ancient rainforest in Rwanda, One&Only Nyungwe House is an exceptional resort, offering truly unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for guests to discover,” said Zuber.

“Jacques’ extensive experience and deep understanding of Africa will be a huge asset for One&Only, complementing the passionate team of people we have in place at the resort, from the Executive Chef through to the Guest Experience Experts.”
