MELBOURNE CONVENTION BUREAU (MCB) will head towards the end of the 2015/2016 financial year as one of the strongest incentive years on record.

CEO Karen Bolinger said that incentive travel programs will bring in about 9,500 delegates into the region, and will pump in more than £21m (US$30.3 million) into the Victorian economy in the next two years.

“We have achieved a 42 percent increase in incentive travel business secured last financial year, and the year isn’t even over yet,” Bolinger said.

The Perfect China incentive will be one of the largest incentive travel reward groups Melbourne has seen, and will inject a significant amount into the economy.

Delegates will begin to arrive in stages from June 2017 for a five-day program.

Meanwhile, AIA Hong Kong Insurance, China Life Insurance, and Taiwan Life Insurance groups will bring a combined 3,650 delegates into the state.

MCB collaborated with hotels, attractions, venues, retail, and food and beverage partners to assist in securing the wins.
