On its 65th anniversary, Metropolitan Touring, Ecuador’s leading travel company and the pioneer of Galápagos Islands expeditions, has announced a fresh new makeover for Yacht Isabela II.

After entering dry dock near Guayaquil at the end of April, the boutique vessel is currently undergoing a revamp, and will set sail afresh on May 29th.

From the beginning of their expedition, discerning explorers will be welcomed on board with serene and sophisticated design in a tastefully renovated reception area, boasting a new hallway, stairwell and boutique.

When not enjoying the many outdoor expeditions on offer, guests will be able to relax in the yacht’s completely transformed social areas.

New wallpaper, carpets and furniture will inject a fresh sense of modernity in both the Bar Salon, whose new bar counter will feature a contemporary wine rack and streamlined seating, and the restaurant, which promises delectable dining experiences with its reconditioned buffet area and new drinking stations.

The refurbished on-board Natural History Library will also exude a new air of elegance and tranquillity, enhancing readers’ experience in Ecuadorian waters.

While walking down the stylish new halls, brought by new flooring and doors, passengers will be able to enjoy breath-taking maritime views through the new glass-plate windows that enable a clearer picture of one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Meanwhile, the ship’s cabins will boast a cosy new design, featuring reupholstered sofas, tasteful new wallpaper and curtains, and matching elegant chairs and carpeting.

With only 20 cabins and up to 40 guests per sailing, Yacht Isabela II is the smallest and most intimate of Metropolitan Touring’s fleet of three ships.
