Marriott International has appointed Christopher Moore as the new general manager of Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel.
Conversant in Bahasa Indonesia and a beginner in Mandarin, his wealth of experience is honed from spearheading five-star properties with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and other major hotel groups in the USA, China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
Moore moves to Malaysia having previously been general manager of the 348-room Sheraton Surabaya Hotel & Towers.
On his latest appointment Moore said: “I’m excited to be back in Malaysia, taking on this new role at the helm of the latest Sheraton property in Petaling Jaya.
“The hotel is the newest to open in over 20 years in the city of Petaling Jaya, and I am confident that the hotel will stand tall as a significant outpost for local and international business and leisure travellers.”
Moore and his team aim to strengthen the hospitality benchmark and service standards in Petaling Jaya with the hotel’s 253 smoke-free guestrooms.
Moore is also determined that Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel will create more impactful interactions and significant events for meeting and event planners through the hotel’s flexible and versatile meeting space.
“We invite meeting and event planners to host inspiring meetings and dynamic, creative functions by maximizing on more than 3,000 sq. meter of space available at Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel.
“Coupled with our impeccable services and modern facilities, we can break new grounds together,” added Moore.
