Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius has welcomed Emmanuel Pauliat as the team’s new executive chef.
With 25 years of culinary experience in city hotels and resorts, Pauliat’s gourmet expertise will be greatly valued and utilised at the iconic resort alongside his enthusiasm, ambition and creativity.
Originally from France, Pauliat has travelled extensively throughout his career, working as a chef in Romania, France and Morocco and as an executive chef in Egypt, Kuwait, Oman and Dubai to name but a few.
Throughout his career Pauliat has been at the centre of new menu innovations, kitchen renovations as well as being heavily involved in the running and catering of large banquets at the hotels in which he worked.
Most recently, he was stationed in Qatar as the executive chef at the Intercontinental Doha in which he managed a kitchen brigade of 70 chefs and 30 stewards.
While in Qatar, Pauliat was also at the helm of award winning restaurants Prime steak house, Square all day dining and Strata bar and lounge and now looks forward to sharing his award-winning skills with the team at Shangri-La’s Le Tousserok Resort & Spa.
Commenting on his new appointment, Pauliat enthused: “Working with such a prestigious hotel group and established resort is a wonderful opportunity for me and one that I am delighted to undertake.
“Having worked internationally in various markets I am confident that I will be able to bring valuable skills and insight to help further enhance this spectacular resort.”
