Raffles Hotels & Resorts has updated plans for a property on the Palm Jumeriah in Dubai as part of its gradual expansion around the world.
First unveiled in 2017, the new hotel will be the tallest building on the iconic structure when its is completed in 2021.
It will be almost 260 meters high.
Raffles the Palm Dubai, with 125 rooms and suites, and 359 branded residences, will be at the tip of the Palm archipelago.
Chris Cahill, deputy chief executive at Accor, confirmed the plans during a recent update on the brand.
“The Raffles collection now includes 14 properties across 12 countries,” said Cahill.
The brand expects to open an additional eight-to-ten hotels over the next few years, he added.
Raffles Hotels & Resorts also recently opened Raffles Shenzhen in China and the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo in the Maldives.
Raffles the Palm Dubai
AccorHotels signed a management agreement with leading Dubai-based master developer Nakheel for the Raffles property in 2017.
The agreement, recognised by Nakheel chairman, Ali Rashid Lootah, and Sébastien Bazin, chief executive of AccorHotels, reveals plans for the first beachside resort from Raffles.
At almost 260 meters high, it will offer unobstructed views of Palm Jumeirah, the spectacular Arabian Gulf coastline and the Dubai skyline.
The hotel will offer 125 hotel rooms and suites, while the 359 branded residences – including 16 branded penthouses that will each have their own private infinity pool, gym and cinema – will be available for purchase.
Residence owners will be able to enjoy Raffles’ legendary services, including concierge, private transportation and in-residence dining.
The hotel and residential complex will feature a host of high-end dining outlets, including two rooftop restaurants commanding sweeping views and a waterside restaurant in a spectacular poolside and beachside setting.
A speciality restaurant will provide a venue for lavish culinary presentations throughout the day and a specially designed lobby lounge will serve top-flight fare in luxurious surroundings.
