FlySafair has removed flight inventory until May 31 following the recent government notification of an extended and tiered lockdown schedule beyond April 30.

Head of Sales and Distribution of FlySafair, Kirby Gordon, told Tourism Update that the airline was seeking urgent clarity on when it would be permitted to resume services and in what capacity. A notification on the airline’s website also states that the airline will resume flights once travel restrictions have been lifted.

At the time that Tourism Update spoke to FlySafair late last week and published the story about its plans to implement social distancing seating when it resumed services, the airline was operating under the understanding that the South African national lockdown would be in place until April 30.
