W HOTELS WORLDWIDE has debuted its first-ever private music studio at W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak.
The sound suite and writer’s room, overlooking a tropical garden, will act as a space for musicians to record while on the road, or simply to jam with band mates when on holiday.
According to Anthony Ingham, global brand leader of W Hotels Worldwide, the luxury hotel chain has had a long history of musicians staying, playing and celebrating at its premises.
“We know that inspiration can strike at any moment, so the W Sound Suite is today’s tech-savvy version of scribbling lyrics on a cocktail napkin,” he says.
The Sound Suite, built in partnership with Cola-Cola, is the brainchild of the W brand’s north American music director, DJ White Shadow, best known for his work with pop megastar Lady Gaga.
He said that musicians often run into challenges when traveling including costly studio charges and the risk of disturbing other guests. For the new studio, the DJ identified the best sound equipment and studio layout for professional use.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts will roll out the sound studio concept across other W hotels in Hollywood, Barcelona and Seattle.
