Windstar Cruises will staff an onboard cruise consultant on four ships to help passengers book their next cruise while on their current one.
The first consultant will embark on Star Legend on its Feb. 3 itinerary from Bangkok to Hong Kong.
Windstar said consultants will also be on the Star Breeze, Star Pride and Wind Surf in coming months, with the other two sail ships being evaluated for the program.
Windstar said when the initial booking of a guest is made by a travel professional, that agent will remain the agent of record for the onboard booking, and the travel agent will receive full credit for the new booking (and full commission).
An email from Windstar to the travel professional will confirm the booking with invoice and itinerary information and remind the travel agent to follow up with guests upon their return home, Windstar said.
Passengers making future bookings with the onboard cruise consultant will be eligible for reduced deposits, and a 5% fare discount.
