1. Bolivian Pork Chicharron

A traditional dish in Bolivia that is usually served with mote, llajua, potatoes or chuño. In Spanish, it’s called Chicharrón de Cerdo or Chicharrón de Chancho.

Bolivian asaditos are patties or burgers made with beef and shredded cassava. They are so good that it tastes as if the beef is melting in your mouth.

Very similar to its cousin quinoa, canahua is a hearty grain that grows in the mountains of the Andes and is virtually unknown outside the high regions of Bolivia and Peru.

This is the Bolivian version of steak and eggs that comes with an extra little kick form the seasoning. A delicious dish to try at the weekends.

6. Bolivian-Style Beef Empanadas

These can be eaten any time of day and are often served with the Bolivian salsa called llajua. They are especially popular as a mid-morning snack and are easy to find from street vendors.

7. Picante de Pollo

Picante de Pollo is one of the many creole recipes that originated from western Bolivia. It is characterised by its aroma, spicy taste of choky flavour of chuño (dehydrated potatoes).
