SHANGHAI’S Disney Resort theme park has attracted thousands of locals during a six-week trial run open to a limited number of people. On Sunday alone, it was estimated that 30,000 guests visited the park.
Visitors strolled around the artificial lake and snapped pictures with a Mickey Mouse fountain sculpture perched on a steamboat.
Attractions include the Alice in Wonderland maze, the Marvel Universe, the Star Wars Launch Bay, the TRON Lightcycle Power Run and the Disney Princesses Fantasyland at the Enchanted Storybook Castle.

One of the most anticipated features in the park is the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, what’s already been called a “technically astonishing” experience of animatronics.
The park marks Disney’s sixth park worldwide, and its first in mainland China.
Meanwhile, tickets for the park’s official opening on June 16 were sold out within hours after going on sale at midnight on Monday.
Despite excitement surrounding the park’s opening, photos of “poor behaviour” of visitors were shared on social media, drawing criticism from netizens.
A number of badly behaved tourists were seen wreaking havoc outside the venue, with some defacing lampposts, trampling on flowers, and excreting in the compound.
