THE WORLD TRAVEL MARKET (WTM) CONNECT ASIA will bring together Chinese, south east Asian and international buyers to the northern state of Penang in Malaysia on May 18 to 20.

Suppliers exhibiting at the event include companies from airlines and cruises, attractions and entertainment, hotels and resorts, transport services, golf-related services, and group travel services.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by Azran Osman Rani, former CEO of AirAsia X, as well as Jamling Tenzing Norgay, son of Sherpa Tenzing who climbed with Sir Edmund Hilary on the first ascent of Mount Everest.

The new ‘pod’ format of the conference will focus on pre-scheduled business appointments, filling up exhibitor and hosted buyer diaries prior to the event. The online diary system opened earlier this year and more than 1,760 meetings have been confirmed.

WTM Connect Asia forms part of the Reed Travel Exhibitions which launched the market to provide international travel companies with direct access to the Asian region.
