Aeromexico and Jet Airways have launched a codeshare partnership, with tickets going on sale.

The carriers hope the deal will allow passengers to travel to and from both countries by connecting via London to Mexico City, Delhi or Mumbai, as of May.

This agreement will provide passengers better connectivity options and access to both airlines’ route networks, which will help strengthen trade and tourism between both countries, that have experienced a 15 per cent annual growth rate over the last three years.

Anko van der Werff, Aeromexico chief revenue officer, said: “The start of this codeshare agreement is further proof that Aeromexico continues to work to connect its customers to the most important regions of the world, which is why it was fundamental to have this alliance with our partner Jet Airways, in order to offer better connectivity options for our passengers to India, a country featuring continued growth of its economic activities and diverse tourism industry.”

Aeromexico will put its AM code on the direct flights offered by Jet Airways from London to cities in India.

In return, Jet Airways will put its 9W code on flights operated by Aeromexico from London to Mexico’s capital city.

“We are confident that this relationship will help facilitate demand for not only leisure but also in the fast- growing trade and business cooperation areas between both nations.”

As part of this agreement, customers of both airlines will also enjoy the benefit of earning miles with the Jet Privilege and Club Premier Loyalty programs, when travelling on this codeshare flights.
