Alaska Airlines will begin codesharing with Singapore Airlines on Sept. 27, pending regulatory approval. The two airlines will also begin a mileage partnership.
Singapore will add its code to 18 Alaska Airlines-operated flights within the U.S. and to Mexico.
The deal will also incorporate the 19 existing codeshares that Singapore has on Virgin America-operated U.S. routes. Alaska purchased Virgin America late last year.
Alaska will not add its code to any Singapore routes under the agreement.
Singapore flies one-stop to Los Angeles, New York and Houston and one-stop and nonstop to San Francisco. Along with the Virgin America routes, Singapore already codeshares within the U.S. on eight United routes out of Houston and 20 JetBlue flights out of New York.
The Alaska-Singapore agreement will enable Alaska Mileage Plan members and Singapore KrisFlyer members to earn miles on flights operated by either airline. KrisFlyer members will also be able to redeem miles for Alaska-operated flights beginning Sept. 27. The two airlines said Mileage Plan members will be able to use their miles for a Singapore Airlines flight at an unspecified later date.
