Following the lifting of financial sanctions against Iran earlier this year by the U.S. and European nations, Alexander+Roberts has introduced a new small-group itinerary to the Persian country.

Alexander+Roberts’ 13-night Persian Moments itinerary will be limited to 16 guests and will explore 11 of Iran’s 19 Unesco World Heritage Sites, including the 11th century St. Stepanos Monastery, the Eram Garden in Shiraz, the ancient ruins of Pasargadae and Persepolis, and the Grand Bazaar in Tabriz.

The tour will begin with an overnight stay at the Le Meridien in Dubai. The following morning, guests will take an included flight on Emirates to Tehran. The journey will continue on to Tabriz, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. The tour will also include people-to-people engagements with Iranians who are, as Alexander+Roberts describes, “eager to meet American travelers.”

Alexander+Roberts will offer seven departures of Persian Moments between March 2017 and March 2018. The first departure will be on March 4 and will be hosted by Alexander+Roberts president Bob Drumm. The company’s senior vice president Scott Avera will host the second departure on April 15.

The tour is priced from $6,699 and includes all meals, sightseeing, gratuities for meals and porterage, and in-country flights as well as roundtrip air on Emirates between Dubai and Iran.
