ANEW Hotels & Resorts has acquired the Ocean Reef Hotel on KwaZulu Natal’s North Coast, just ahead of the peak summer season.

“From December 1, 2020, just in time for the holiday season, we have an exciting new addition that will enhance our current offering even further and be perfect for both the local traveller and the international market,” said CEO, Clinton Armour.

The Ocean Reef Hotel is close to Umhlanga Rocks and King Shaka International Airport and not far from KwaZulu Natal’s game reserves and wilderness areas.

Accommodation offers a variety of room types, including two- and three-bedroom apartments and hotel rooms. The hotel also features a spacious deck with a 180-degree view of the Indian Ocean, and a large function room suitable for events, weddings and conferences. The Bamboo Restaurant can also be used as an event venue.

The latest addition, together with the seven Fortis Hotels acquired in August, brings ANEW’s portfolio to a total of 11 hotels and resorts.

“Being part of ANEW Hotels & Resorts will reveal Ocean Reef for the hidden gem it is. We will benefit greatly from the exposure of being part of a wider family and I anticipate great excitement from the industry at the news,” said GM of the hotel, Vanitha Moodley.
