THE WALL ON THE US-MEXICO BORDER IS UGLY. So Ana Teresa Fernández is erasing it. And in the tradition of other great artists like Banksy and Wile E. Coyote, Fernández is erasing the wall using nothing but paint.
“Why don’t we just see this space like we are all part of one humanity?” Fernández said to AJ+, “We are different cultures, but under the same sky.” The portion of the wall that’s being painted is on a part of the wall that cuts off a street between the two nations. Fernández has done this before: she previously painted a portion of the wall right where it meets to ocean so that it just looked like an extension of the beach.
