It’s no secret that competition is heating up for luxury resorts in Los Cabos, but the original top oceanfront beauties are not sitting still, including Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection.

Esperanza was one of the originals here, perched on a cliff with stunning views of the bay to the right and powerful waves crashing below. One of our correspondents recently stayed to update our review and found the views still impress, but regular renovations and refreshes are keeping this upscale resort looking close to perfect.

Multiple public areas take advantage of the enviable vistas here, with the main restaurant, a bar, and a swimming pool all enticing you to stick around and watch nature roar. There’s not a lot of beach swimming going on along the Los Cabos corridor: it’s best to watch these late-breaking, strong waves hitting the sand from a safe distance. It’s quite a show, and if you like the idea of falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves, it won’t be difficult here.

It is clear as soon as you arrive at Esperanza that they are going to do everything they can to make your vacation a special one.

“Upon check-in, you receive a personal concierge who directs your short walking tour to the room to explain the property layout. The Watermelon Margarita or Mexican Lemonade upon arrival helps to set the mood. Open the door and there’s fresh guacamole and jicama pineapple salsa to provide more of a welcome. A hint of the level of amenities in each room is a rather large telescope pointed to the bay and ocean so you can watch for breaching whales or jumping rays.”

Rooms start at 925 square feet and go up to a few thousand in the multi-bedroom villas. They are all loaded with top amenities, from robes and lip balm to double vanities and big soaking tubs. These are some of the most attractive quarters in the region and outfitted with top-end bedding and towels of course.

The popular spa on site is complemented by a fitness center and staffers can arrange a variety of excursions in the area or set up tee times at golf courses. Service here is attentive, professional, and quick, with a strong customer first attitude evident throughout.

Yes, the cement trucks are busy all around the end of the Baja Peninsula these days, but Esperanza and Auberge still stand above most of the pack. See our new updated review of Esperanza Auberge Resorts Collection hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico.
