The Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa in Mauritius has a new space at the Kids’ Club, designed for children from the ages of three to 11 and has also launched a new teens’ app for those aged 12-17.

The larger Kids’ Club now has four themed Bushtec tents, a welcome area and painting space, a media space equipped with television and music, a reading and relaxing space as well as a gaming area. Children will also enjoy the playground, equipped with swings and a cabana.

The Kids’ Club entertainment team also offer activities such as pétanque, archery, gardening, treasure hunts, balloon and pool games as well as trips on a glass-bottom boat. Some activities also allow children to discover Mauritian culture such as local cooking workshops, Creole lessons, séga sessions, walks around local towns and meetings with children who live in neighbouring villages.

Earlier this year, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels also launched Teens Club Beachcomber, an app and social network for teenagers. Using geolocation, the app connects Beachcomber guests to other teens staying in the same hotel.

The Teens Club Beachcomber app invites users to create a profile, specifying the dates of their stay and their interests. It then gives them access to their hotel’s activities schedule and allows them to create chats. Users receive notifications about the activities they’ve expressed an interest in. They can also invite friends to activities, rate the events and even create their own. The app uses geolocation to guide users through their hotel and tell them when their friends are nearby. The day after the user’s stated departure date, the application is automatically deactivated and is no longer accessible from their phone.

The app is available on Android and iOS and teens must meet with the entertainment team and obtain their parents’ consent in order to download it.
