Como Hotels & Resorts has appointed Javier Beneyto as the new general manager of Como Metropolitan London, the 144-bedroom contemporary hotel in Mayfair.

Beneyto joins the team after successfully launching Como’s newest addition to the collection, Como Uma Canggu in Bali.

Born in Madrid, Beneyto began his career at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel in Palma de Mallorca, while studying hotel management at universities in Spain and Germany.

Since graduating he has held managerial positions at hotels across the Caribbean, North America and Europe.

At the beginning of 2009, Beneyto became the hotel manager of the award-winning Villa Magna Hotel – a five-star Grand Luxe member of Leading Hotels of the World.

Beneyto joined Como Hotels & Resorts in 2012 as acting general manager of Como Cocoa Island in the Maldives before filling the same role in London at Como The Halkin.

He then moved to the United States as the opening general manager of Como’s Metropolitan Miami Beach, before relocating to Bali.

Beneyto ‘s extensive experience will be a great asset to the London team as the hotel launches an exciting new restaurant concept in September 2018.

This will replace the infamous Met Bar, London’s first private members bar.

After a full refurbishment in 2015 Como Metropolitan London evolved with a keen focus on the health and wellbeing of its guests.

The addition of the new restaurant will further enhance the hotel’s position as a contemporary alternative on Park Lane.
