Cresta Hotels continues to upgrade and renovate various hotels in southern Africa, including Zimbabwe.

Renovations at Cresta Churchill in Bulawayo were completed recently and further work has been announced for next year at Cresta Oasis and Apartments in Harare. The bedrooms and suites will be renovated and the leisure club at the hotel will no longer be leased to external franchisees but run as an upmarket entertainment venue.

The group operates five hotels across Zimbabwe and over the last five years has undertaken a development and expansion programme.

Cresta Jameson in Harare has re-established Tiffany’s restaurant and introduced a new menu at its ground floor dining venue, the Sandawana.

Cresta Hotels invested $6 million (R82,2million) in Cresta Lodge, Harare, between 2012 and 2016. This included the refurbishment of all 171 suites and bedrooms, all public areas, the Chatters restaurant and also saw the construction of the Cresta Sango conferencing and banqueting centre at the lodge.

CEO of Cresta, Glenn Stutchbury, thinks the future potential of the tourism industry in Zimbabwe is massive and, given recent events, will soon be realised, reported allAfrica.

“As we move into 2018 and a hoped-for increase in visitor arrivals, as well as a re-invigoration of domestic travel, we are well positioned to take advantage of all opportunities that come our way,” Stutchbury told allAfrica.
