If you’ve been looking at traveling to Paris, not only is summer a good time to go, but Marriott is offering travelers a promotion at 14 of its properties in Paris for travel this summer. If you stay three nights or more at one of the included properties, you’ll get 25% off at four-star hotels or 20% off at five-star hotels — although I didn’t find any discounts that came close to those figures. What makes the offer more enticing is that it includes free Wi-Fi and breakfast for two.

The 14 properties include those in city center, as well as some properties in the surrounding neighborhoods. Here’s a complete list of the participating properties you can book at discounted rates:

Is It Worth It?

If you’ve been looking at traveling to Paris, this could be a good opportunity to do so, especially if you find good value in the hotel you choose. As always, it’s best to do your research and compare all kinds of discounted rates before you book anything, including these promotional deals. Here are some sample stays:

The special deal rate with Marriott’s promotion at the AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot.

For a three-night stay in August with Marriott’s Summer Savings in Paris promotion, the AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot is going for 134 euros (~$154) per night, for a total of 410 euros (~$471). The next-lowest rate during the same time period is the new Marriott Member Rate, which is 140 euros (~$161) per night, for a total of 427 euros (~$491).

In this case, the promotion is the better option, but not by much — around $20. Considering the promotion comes with complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast for two, however, you’d definitely come out ahead by booking with the promo.

The promotion rate at the Paris Marriott Champs Elysees Hotel.

For a three-night stay in August at the Paris Marriott Champs Elysees with the promotion, rates are 423 euros (~$486) per night, for a total of 1,280 euros (~$1,471) for the whole stay. However, if you’re to book with the AAA discount, rates are around 397 euros (~$456) per night, for a total of 1,200 euros (~$1,379) for the whole stay.

In this case, you’re paying more for the stay with the promotion, but the complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast for two could still make the promo the better option.

SPJ
The promotion rate at the Renaissance Paris Hippodrome De St. Cloud Hotel.

At the Renaissance Paris Hippodrome De St. Cloud Hotel for a three-night stay in August, promotional rates are going for 134 euros (~$154) per night, for a total of 408 euros (~$469) for the whole stay. The next-lowest rate for the same period is the Marriott Member Rate, which is going for 140 euros (~$161) per night, for a total of 425 euros ($488) for the whole stay.

In this case, you’d again come out ahead if you were to use the Marriott three-night promotion — by about $19.

Bottom Line

Ultimately, whether or not this promotion is worth it depends on your travel plans. As always, it’s best to check and compare rates with different discounts, including the new Marriott Member Rate and AAA rate. Of course, if you’re a Marriott Rewards Gold or Platinum Elite member, the free breakfast benefit wouldn’t be all that important and a determining factor in if you take advantage of this deal. Many of the higher-end properties don’t appear to have a great discount — you’re more likely to find better discounts at the lower-category properties. However, it’s always worth checking.

If you choose to book, don’t forget to do so with the Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card. The card is currently offering 80,000 points when you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first three months. You’ll get 5 points for every dollar spent at more than 4,000 Marriott properties, in addition to one free night at a Category 1-5 property every account anniversary.
