While currently, Disney closes all theme parks around the world due to the coronavirus epidemic, the company still plans to open a new one in the summer. On July 18, the Avengers Campus is planned to open in the Disney California Adventure Park, a place where people won’t just see superheroes, but will also feel like one.

The campus has been designed with “great responsibility in terms of iconography,” says Scot Drake of Walt Disney Imagineering. It promises not to be a place to see (or just to see), but “to live out your superhero fantasies.” Using an avant-garde aesthetic, the upcoming Avengers Campus will develop never-before-seen technologies to offer a fully immersive experience.

Avengers Campus

To do this, and in addition to the Avengers Headquarters, the campus will revisit stories of superheroes through a series of attractions, shows and restaurants, in a similar fashion to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed area, which debuted last year at Disneyland.

Among the attractions is ‘Web Slingers: a Spider-Man Adventure’, a completely new and ultra-technological experience that combines both physical elements and digital images to make you feel like the superhero himself.

Guests will be able to sling their own webs to defeat villains, but also interact with Spider-Bots, robotic partners developed in the new workshop of the World Engineering Brigade (or WEB for short), where young inventors like Peter Parker develop all kinds of technologies that help superheroes fight evil. But what if those Spider-Bots got out of control? Our mission, using 3D glasses and special vehicles, is to catch them.

A Collection of Superheroes

Besides Spider-Man, you will be able to interact with other superheroes in the campus, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Black Widow, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Thor, Groot and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Captain Marvel and even villains, like the mischievous Loki.

For example, let’s say someone wants to hone his or her superhero skills. The person will be able to train with elite Dora Milaje guards and Black Panther in the fictional country of Wakanda, while those more interested in the power of the mind can learn Doctor Strange’s mystical magic in the Sanctum.

Iron Man news

Tony Stark, billionaire and inventor of the Iron Man armor, will show visitors his all-new Mark LXXX (Mark 80) suit, which will be unveiled for the first time in the Disney Park. Similarly, Taskmaster, the villain of the upcoming Black Widow movie, will also be featured.

The world of superheroes couldn’t be complete without a dedicated dining area. Visitors will be able to try out recipes in the Pym Test Kitchen, which will also open on July 18. Using a revolutionary shrinking and enlargement technology, Ant-Man and the Wasp lead a research space capable of offering the perfect bite, all served in an area designed as a laboratory for experiments.
