NEW YORK — The Dream Hotel Group plans to open five new hotels in the U.S. and one in Qatar by 2019.

Properties are being built in Nashville, Dallas, Palm Springs, two in New York (one in Times Square and the other in Queens) and Doha.

The $1.5 billion in hotel development will double the Dream footprint, said Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein at an event at the company’s Dream Downtown location here, where the Doha hotel deal was signed by Sant Singh Chatwal, chairman of the Dream Hotel Group, and Sheikh Sultan of Al Alfia Holding.

The 325-room Dream Doha is slated to open in late 2019 and will feature nine dining and nightlife venues. The property will be the first Middle Eastern hotel for the brand and its third international one; the Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa and Dream Bangkok are both in Thailand.

The 169-room Dream Nashville, 260-room Dream Dallas, 175-room Dream Palm Springs, and 239-room Dream Times Square are all expected to open in 2018.

The 254-room Dream Long Island City in Queens is slated to open in 2019, and will double the number of Dream hotels in New York, joining the Dream Midtown and Dream Downtown.

The next Dream, the David Rockwell-designed 179-room Dream Hollywood, is slated to open in September.
