Last week, American Airlines announced it was celebrating the 35th anniversary of its AAdvantage program by giving away 350,000 miles to 35 people. Not only that, but everyone could get up to 700 miles just for signing up. Now, with the carrier’s latest promotion, frequent flyers can earn up to 50,000 bonus AAdvantage miles for travel to Europe. You can earn a bonus when you fly between North America and Europe with American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair or Iberia, so this is a great way to rack up even more miles with British Airways’ fantastic business-class sale fares.

Round-Trips Bonus Miles Earned for First or Business Class Fares Bonus Miles Earned for Premium Economy or Select Full-Fare Economy Bonus Miles Earned for Other Economy Fares
1 25,000 15,000 2,000
2 25,000 15,000 2,000
Total 50,000 30,000 4,000

The offer is good between now and July 31, 2016. To take advantage, register with AA before booking your travel at aa.com/offers and enter the code NAS16. Note that you must register prior to travel in order to get the bonus miles. In all, if you fly round-trip between North America and Europe in business or first class twice before July 31, you could come out with an additional 50,000 bonus AAdvantage miles. Unfortunately, these bonus miles don’t count toward elite status qualification or Million Miler status.

If anything, this offer is a good way to earn some more AAdvantage miles on your travel. Even if you’re not flying in first or business class on a round-trip ticket, you can still earn some bonus miles for flying in economy — more in full-fare economy than the discounted economy tickets. You’ll get 4,000 miles for two round-trips between the two continents in discounted economy. What makes this even more appealing is that you can earn these bonus miles on not only American Airlines-operated flights, but also those operated by British Airways, Finnair or Iberia.

You can also increase your AAdvantage miles stash by signing up for the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite MasterCard. The card is currently offering 50,000 miles after you spend $5,000 in the first three months. In addition, you (and your authorized users) will get complimentary Admirals Club access. You’ll also earn 2 miles for every dollar spent with American Airlines, and 1 mile per dollar for everything else.
