Emirates has launched its ‘Best of South Africa’ escorted tour as part of its new Emirates Holidays Worldwide Holidays collection for 2019-2021.

The tour begins in Cape Town and ends in the Kruger National Park, although visitors can do the itinerary in the reverse order on a tailor-made basis.

Days one to four see guests arriving in Cape Town, and taking three days to explore the city and its surrounds. Highlights on day two include taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, visiting the Castle of Good Hope and Greenmarket Square. On day three, guests travel to Stellenbosch via the Cape Grape Orchids Tour as well as crossing the Helshoogte Pass to Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of South Africa.

Day four’s activities see guests travelling on the Cape Point and Peninsular tour, and exploring the Atlantic seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, to Hout Bay, and then continuing on to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman’s Peak. Guests can stop over in Simon’s Town and see the large penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

The next day is spent flying to Johannesburg, followed by a city tour to familiarise themselves with the city. On day six guests join a half-day Soweto tour where they can learn more about South African history. On the following day they leave for Hazyview and travel to Mpumalanga via the Panorama Route, taking in the Blyde River Canyon.

Days eight and nine are spent in the Kruger National Park, they enjoy open-vehicle safaris through the Kruger National Park on morning and afternoon game drives. The tour ends on day ten, when guests will be transferred to Hoedspruit/Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to catch flights to their favoured destinations.
