Etihad will begin daily flights to Tel Aviv from its base in Abu Dhabi on March 28.

The move follows the Sept. 15 agreement that normalized relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel.

In a Monday announcement, Etihad said departures on the route will be timed to facilitate connecting travelers from across its network, “including China, India, Thailand and Australia.” The carrier did not specifically mention connecting travelers from the U.S.

Etihad is the second UAE carrier to schedule flights to Tel Aviv. The first, the short-haul carrier FlyDubai, will begin twice-daily service between Dubai and Tel Aviv on Nov. 26. FlyDubai has an extensive codeshare partnership with the Dubai-based long-haul carrier Emirates.
