Flybe has successfully completed its changeover to the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System.
The technology is now fully up and running on flybe.com and the airline’s back end systems.
The booking process has been simplified and integrated with other areas to ensure passengers enjoy a smooth and personalised digital experience before, during and after travel.
The new system has added functionality such as booking mobility assistance at the airport which can now be requested during booking instead of via the call centre.
This added functionality when coupled with the Bombardier Q-400’s ability to board via both front and back doors makes travel as easy as possible for those who need assistance.
Winter sports enthusiasts can now add their skis and snowboards to their booking and pay with just a click, while those who prefer a more leisurely pursuit this summer can do the same for their golf clubs.
The new check-in system has been very well received by passengers, following the addition of the capability to do so via the revamped Flybe app and the ability to save boarding passes to both Apple and Android wallets.
The app has more functionality for Flybe passengers, from a new, easy to use flight search widget and clearly laid out fares, to being able to add travel extras such as hold baggage or preferred seat choice- the new app makes travelling with Flybe easier.
Passengers can check in, manage their bookings and add their travel schedule to their phone calendars.
Flight connections have also received a boost through integration with Flybe’s 11 codeshare partners such Etihad, Cathay Pacific and Air France.
Roy Kinnear, Flybe chief commercial officer, said: “The switch over to the Amadeus Altéa system allows us to deliver a smoother and more personal digital experience for our passengers.
“This has been one of the biggest IT infrastructure projects in Flybe history and I would like to thank the Flybe and Amadeus teams for their 18 months of hard work as well as the team at Conztanz who assisted in the process to implement a smooth transition of flybe.com and at airports across our network.”
