GEEKS ON A PLANE, a traveling tour for start-ups, investors and executives, will kick-start their circuit run in Hangzhou, China today.

The goals of Geeks on a Plane’s program are to travel within Asia to meet with budding start-up founders and investors, learn about internet and market trends, as well as gain insight into local markets and business models.

The tour is invite-only, and interested applicants can pitch their start-up ideas here for a chance to tag along.

If chosen, tours typically range from $9,000-$10,000 per person. The entourage will circle Hong Kong, Shenzen, Taipei and Tokyo before making an unofficial stop in Singapore.

The event is organized by 500 Startups, a seed fund initiative banded by start-up founders, investors and mentors to discover and mould potential entrepreneurs.

The company is also conducting PreMoney in Hong Kong on April 7, where start-up founders and CEOs will discuss the future of venture capital.
