Lucid Ventures, a R350 million (€21,82m) Cape Town based hotel fund, has announced the launch of a new boutique hotel brand called Home* Suite Hotels.

The first hotel, Bristol Rosebank, has already opened and is located on the corner of Oxford and Bristol Roads in central Rosebank. Further hotels are due to open in Rosebank and Sandton, in Johannesburg, and Sea Point, De Waterkant and Gardens in Cape Town over the following 24 months.

The 25-80 key hotels feature larger rooms with larger windows and are designed by SLOW lounge creator Tonic Design. The hotels are also centrally located with a suburban feel. Guests can look forward to Hypnos beds, home-style meals served in the open plan kitchen, a help yourself pantry for snacking, a Chromecast in-room entertainment system and a resident dog adopted from a local shelter.

Home* Suite Hotels is positioning itself to compete in the gap between large 150+ room international hotels and high-end independent boutique hotels. According to Gidon Novick, Founder of Lucid Ventures, “The gap is for travellers looking for both the facilities of a large international hotel brand and the intimacy of smaller boutique hotel.”
