Wyndham Hotel Group plans to open three more hotels in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by 2022.

Panos Loupasis, Vice President Development, Middle East and Africa, told Tourism Update that construction of the first hotel had started. “We are aiming to open Wyndham Addis Ababa Bole Road at the end of 2019. Wyndham Garden Langano is currently estimated to open in the fourth quarter of 2020, and TRYP by Wyndham Addis Ababa in the fourth quarter of 2022.”

Wyndham Addis Ababa Bole Road will be a 161-room hotel, including nine suites. Situated adjacent to the planned TRYP by Wyndham, the hotel will offer an exceptional level of luxury in a convenient central location. Facilities will include two restaurants, two lounges, a juice bar and café.

Expected to open in 2020, Wyndham Garden Langano will be located on the shores of Lake Langano, south of Addis Ababa. Its 112 rooms will include 12 suites and 24 deluxe rooms, and facilities will include an outdoor swimming pool, spa, and tennis court, as well as water sports on Lake Langano. The food and beverage offering includes two restaurants, a cocktail bar and lounge.

TRYP by Wyndham Addis Ababa Bole Road will be located at Addis Ababa’s busiest address, just 1.3km from Bole International Airport. The 120 rooms will include 12 suites and leisure facilities will incorporate a rooftop fitness area, sauna and spa. The comprehensive food and beverage offering comprises an all-day restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge.

Wyndham Hotel Group also aims to further expand its footprint by exploring more opportunities in countries such as Rwanda and Uganda.
