Hôtel Le Louis Versailles Château, MGallery by Sofitel, has opened following a complete renovation of an historic 19th century building in the Île-de-France region of France, what was once the seat of political power in the Kingdom of France.

Originally constructed by the war ministry of Louis-Napoléon III in 1854, the property is situated just 200 metres from the Palace of Versailles and its gardens.

Set at the very top of the Avenue de Paris, the hotel enjoys a prime location on the widest avenue in France, providing the ideal starting point from which to explore the most beautiful cultural and historic sites of The Royal City, including the Royal Opera, the Centre de Musique Baroque and the Théâtre Montansier.

Its proximity to Versailles’ two main railway stations also makes it easy to visit the capital’s must-see attractions, with Paris only 20 minutes by train.

The four-star hotel was designed by Russian architectural firm, Sundukovy Sisters, and evokes the building’s exceptional heritage and influential splendour of neighbouring Palace of Versailles, although with a contemporary feel and luxurious touch for modern day travellers.

It features classical architecture comprising of just four floors as properties in Versailles are not permitted to be higher than the King’s chamber in the Palace.

The hotel decor combines architecture with nature and echoes the gardens of the Château, with a focus on natural light through an impressive central glass roof.

The Orangerie’s stylised arabesques and geometric shapes evoke the conical, sculpted shrubs of the gardens and the hotel’s corridors reflect views of Versailles and the Halls of the Palace.

Each MGallery has a unique story to tell and a rooted local history.

Hence, MGallery by Sofitel properties offer guests ‘Memorable Moments’, which are designed to create experiences that allow guests to learn more about the heritage of a destination in a unique way.

Hotel Le Louis Versailles Château’s unique location allows it to offer a completely personalised tour of the Palace of Versailles: discovery tours that are specially created by the Palace’s guides and allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the Royal way of life.

With Hôtel Le Louis Versailles Château, MGallery is expanding its collection of boutique hotels, which already includes 90 locations throughout the world.
